Job Summary

We are seeking a sharp and commercially minded Supply Chain Manager to oversee procurement strategy, stock control, and logistics operations within a metal-based industrial environment.
The role requires strong market awareness of metal commodities, supplier negotiation skills, and the ability to make smart purchasing decisions based on price fluctuations and stock levels.

The Supply Chain Manager will lead existing teams handling stock control and logistics while remaining hands-on in supplier negotiations and purchasing decisions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor metal commodity markets and price trends to determine optimal purchasing timing
  • Negotiate with local and international suppliers to secure best pricing, quality, and delivery terms
  • Oversee procurement planning in line with production needs and stock levels
  • Supervise stock control and inventory management activities
  • Ensure effective coordination of import/export and logistics operations
  • Optimize inventory turnover while avoiding shortages or overstock
  • Collaborate closely with production, engineering, and finance teams
  • Evaluate supplier performance and maintain strategic supplier relationships
  • Lead and guide the stock and logistics teams to ensure operational efficiency

Profile of Ideal Candidate

  • Minimum 6 years of experience in supply chain, procurement, project management, or related roles
  • Strong exposure to commodity-driven markets, preferably metal or industrial materials
  • Mechanical Engineering background is a plus, but not mandatory
  • Proven ability to negotiate, analyze quotations, and take commercial decisions
  • Strong understanding of stock management and logistics workflows
  • Market-savvy, analytical, and commercially intelligent
  • Comfortable leading teams while remaining operationally involved
